Lei Liu joined the Florida Orchestra in 1994. He currently serves as
Second Assistant Concertmaster in the First violin section. Prior to FO
he was a member of the Florida Symphony in Orlando, and the Singapore
Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Liu received his Bachelor’s degree from Central Conservatory of
Music in Beijing, and came to United States in 1985 to further his study
in violin performance. He received his master’s degree from Temple
University, studied under Professor Helen Kwalwasser, and The Assistant
Concertmaster of Philadelphia Orchestra Mr. David Arben. Besides his duty in the Florida Orchestra, Mr. Liu is an active player of chamber music on both violin and viola. He was appointed the conductor of Serenade String Orchestra of the Pinellas Youth Symphony. He is also a dedicated teacher and serves as violin and viola instructor in the University of Tampa. |

Nancy Chang, originally from Taiwan, received her Bachelor and Master
Degrees in Violin Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. As a
chamber musician, Nancy performed with many ensembles in Los Angeles,
New York and Miami. She performed as a soloist with the Burbank Chamber Orchestra, West Los Angeles Symphony and the California State at Los Angeles University Orchestra. Nancy was a member of the New World Symphony from 2003-2006 in Miami, Florida. She joined The Florida Orchestra in 2006 and was recently appointed Associate Concertmaster in 2007. Nancy currently resides in Saint Petersburg, Florida. |

Violist Karl Bawel has been active in the Tampa Bay area as a solo
recitalist and member of The Florida Orchestra for over twenty five
years. In addition to his local performances with the Florida Orchestra,
Mr. Bawel has performed throughout the United States as a violist in
the Bayside String Quartet (he is now a member of the Arioso String
Quartet), and has performed numerous solo recitals throughout the United
States and Europe. Mr. Bawel is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Violin Performance, and studied violin with Ruth Pousselt and viola with Darrel Barnes. Continuing his study of the viola at Ithaca College, he earned his Performance Degree in Viola in 1981. |

Lowell Adams, Instructor of Violoncello and Chamber Music, is the
Assistant Principal Cellist of the Florida Orchestra. He is a founding
member of the Arioso Quartet, Spectrum Contemporary Ensemble, and the
Florida Cello Club. He was a Visiting Professor of Violoncello and an Artist – in – Residence member of the Esterhazy Quartet at the University of Missouri – Columbia, and was a member of the Saint Louis Symphony. He received a B.M., and a M.M. from Northern Illinois University, and the Artist’s Diploma from the Hartt School of Music. Some of his many distinguished teachers include Raya Garbousova and the Vermeer Quartet. |
